The Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte said that the government was unlikely to ratify the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine, taking into account the results of the April referendum, in which the Dutch had voted against the Agreement.

In accordance with the EU regulations, before entering into force, the Agreement must be ratified by the government of each member state of the Union.

At the advisory referendum in April, residents of the Netherlands voted against the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. 61% of the citizens voted against it, 38.2% for it. The turnout was 32% with 30% required.

After the failure of the vote for the Association, the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte announced the revision of the Agreement’s ratification.
