The Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko signed the first framework decision on the separation of the forces and weapons in Donbass, initialed on the eve by the participants of the Contact Group in Minsk. It was stated by Denis Pushilin, the head of the DPR delegation in the negotiations of the Contact Group, at a meeting of the DPR People's Council.

‘The Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko has signed the document on the separation of the forces and weapons in Donbass,’ said Pushilin.

Previously, the decision was signed by Igor Plotnitsky, and on September 21, by the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine.

The framework agreement concerns the first in the history of the conflict separation of the forces and weapons in Donbass at three sites, Petrovskoye (DPR) and Stanitsa Luganskaya and Zolotoye (LPR).

According to the document, the whole process should be completed within 30 days for each of the sites in not less than 2 kilometers in width and 2 km in depth. This separation of the parties should be mirrored in the presence of OSCE SMM observers. After the separation of the forces in Donbass, the presence of the military is prohibited in the sites, with the exception for the observers of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire (JCCC).
