The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Avakov, urged the Ukrainian authorities to reconsider the status of the military operation in Donbass. He noted that the term «antiterrorist operation» (ATO) had been used at the very beginning of the war between Donbass and Ukraine. According to him, this was a reaction to events, which had not yet existed in the country's history. 

‘Now, when it comes to the full-scale military operation that is underway, it is obviously necessary to review the status, but not to reconsider the essence,’ Avakov said. 

In his opinion, it is necessary to streamline the procedural possibility of using the Ukrainian military in Donbass.
