The Director of the White House administrative and budgetary administration, Mick Mulvaney, has confirmed that the US intends to change the principles of rendering military assistance to a number of countries from granting to loans. 

‘Yes, I can confirm it,’ he answered the journalist's question whether military grants would be replaced in the new budget by loans for such countries as Vietnam, Indonesia, Colombia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Ukraine. 

‘We are changing a couple of foreign military programs from direct grants for loans. Instead of giving someone $ 100 million, we can give them credit guarantees, and they will actually be able to buy more things,’ he said. 

At the same time, he emphasized that the programs were preserved for Israel and Egypt.
