After the entry into force of the National Security and Defense Council’s decision to terminate the activities of the Russian payment systems in Ukraine, cash flows will be redirected through the payment systems created under the jurisdiction of other countries. It was announced by Elena Mahaeva, the head of the over-site of the NBU payment systems, during a press conference.

‘Cash flows will be redirected, and will come to Ukraine through other systems of funds transfer, including those from Russia,’ said Mahaeva.

According to her, the National Bank has already prepared explanations and telegrams to all member banks, informing of the National Security Council’s decision on the termination of the activity of Russian payment systems in Ukraine.

‘They (the Ukrainian banks) will complete their settlements in accordance with their agreements, and I do not remember there to be any penalties prescribed. The program of the National Bank does not include the term, in which the settlements will be completed, that is, every member bank will solve this on its own, it has to stop receiving remittances and complete the settlements in normal mode, in accordance with the contract,’ she added.
