The State Duma MP from the Communist Party, Kazbek Taysaev urged the State Duma of the Russian Federation to offer the president to recognize the results of the people’s referendum in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republic, on which the majority of the population voted in favor of sovereignty.

In addition, according to him, it is necessary to create a parliamentary working group to analyze the situation in Donbass.

‘In view of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republic, taking into account the situation of the continuing policy of genocide and terror against the residents of Donbass, I consider it extremely important, firstly, to establish a parliamentary working group for a more thorough analysis of the situation in Donbass,’ Taysaev said at the plenary session.

‘Secondly, in the event of default of the provisions of the Minsk Agreements within six months, I consider it possible for the Russian State Duma to adopt a statement on the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the DPR and LPR to prepare proposals to the President of the Russian Federation on the recognition of the nationwide referendum results in the DPR and LPR, during which the vast majority of the population of these republics voted in favor of sovereignty,‘ he added. 

The situation in Donbass, he said, is ‘very difficult’.
