The Russian State Duma has passed, in the second and third readings, a bill on the so-called «short-term contract». This bill was developed in the Russian government. It provides the opportunity to enter into a contract with the security agencies of the Russian Federation for a period of not longer than one year.

Such contracts, as stated in the document, may be signed in the period of emergency, as well as during the execution of tasks on maintaining and restoring peace and security, including problems of counter-terrorism nature both in Russia and abroad.
