Despite the unceasing attacks on localities of the Donetsk People's Republic and the two-year ongoing war, population growth is recorded in the DPR.

It was stated by Victoria Romaniuk, the Acting Minister of Economic Development of the DPR, on the air of the Republican TV channel «Union".

According to her, the growth is due to both the increase in the birth rate and the return of the inhabitants of the region from exile.

‘Only over half-year, 5,700 children were born, and 45 families had twins. 7,400 pregnant women are registered in antenatal clinics. During this half-year, the infant mortality rate decreased by 5%. In demography, it is very impressive figures. During this half-year, we even had positive figures of the net migration. People are returning, families are returning,’ said Romaniuk.
