It is urgent to create commissions for the prevention of environmental disasters at enterprises located on the Ukrainian part of Donbass. This was announced by Alexander Drobot, the head of the recovery management center of the LPR, at a meeting of the round table in the Federation Council. 

‘We strongly insist on creating joint commissions which should include experts on technogenic safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, international missions, humanitarian organizations of ecological orientation,’ said Drobot. 

According to him, in recent years the Ukrainian side has repeatedly allowed oil leaks from oil refineries and oil pipelines that have caused fires.

The Severodonetsk «Azot», which produces 100 thousand tons of ammonia per year on the equipment of 1968, causes his special fears. 

‘We have developed a plan to eliminate accidents and emissions of toxic substances into the atmosphere. With this wind rose, the threat of the spread of poisonous substances is about 200 km, while the distance from the contact line is 40-60 km. Therefore, any accident will be a threat to the LPR,’ said Drobot. 

Even more dangerous situation has developed at the Lugansky TPP. 

‘It is mined by unruled people. They can undermine it at any time, which will endanger the entire drainage complex. And this is drinking water and the mines of Donbass,’ said Drobot.
