The leader of the French party «National Front», Marine Le Pen announced in the European Parliament her willingness to hold a referendum in France on the withdrawal from the EU.

‘In accordance with the rules of democracy, the referendum is the best tool. In recent years, I have said that I intend to hold a referendum to give the French people an opportunity to express their opinion on the withdrawal of France from the EU,’ answered Le Pen a question about whether she was ready for such a referendum if elected the president of the country.

Marine Le Pen has already announced her intention to hold in France a referendum on the withdrawal from the EU, in case of her victory in the presidential election. Previously, she positively commended on the results of the referendum on the withdrawal of Great Britain from the EU, and called for a vote in France and other countries.

The first round of the elections in France will be held in April 2017.
