Matios: Explosion in ammunition depot near Kharkov was caused by diversion

02:38, 24.03.2017

The cause of explosions of ammunition in the town of Balakleya in the Kharkov region may be sabotage, said the chief military prosecutor of Ukraine, Matios.

‘According to preliminary data (now the results of the investigative actions) of the military prosecutor of the Kharkov garrison (which is on the scene), as a result of the sabotage, tonight, at 03:02, at several sites of rocket and artillery weapons storage (125mm tank and 152mm artillery shells) near the town of Balakleya in the Kharkov region, there was an explosion (a fire broke out), which caused detonation of ammunition,’ the report said.

The political analyst and the chief editor of the project «However. Eurasia», Semyon Uralov expressed doubts about the authenticity of the version of Matios, on his Facebook page.

According to Uralov, a similar situation was in 2008, ‘right after the failed Saakashvili's Blitzkrieg in the South Ossetia’.

‘The military stores were also burning, also near Kharkov. Then, Peter Yushchenko, the brother of the Ukrainian president, was hiding the ends of the arms that he was sending to the partners of Tbilisi, while the current head of the MIA, Avakov, was the governor of the Kharkov region, and Yushchenko's nephew was his deputy. Then, in 2008, the story was hushed and the fate of all the participants was successful. No one answered for anything. It's even simpler now - you can blame the separatists or Russian saboteurs. However, arson is the corporate style of the regime in Kiev. I think that many interesting things will burn,’ wrote Uralov.

According to the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, in the Kharkov region, in the town of Balakleya, on the night of Thursday, March 23, there was a fire in the ammunition depot.

About 15,000 residents from Balakleya and adjacent villages in the Kharkov region will be evacuated because of the fire in the ammunition depot, the State Service for Emergencies reported.
