German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that the crisis in Donbass should be overcome in parallel with the improvement of relations with the Russian Federation. 

‘We need to look for safe and reliable solutions to the situation in Ukraine, and we also need to improve relations with Russia,’ she said at a joint news conference with US President Donald Trump. 

Earlier, Merkel spoke about the need to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Donbass.
