The block 3 of the Rovno NPP was cut off from the power system by the electric protection system at 03:17 on June 15, reported the press service of the state-owned enterprise «Energoatom». According to it, the event is rated «zero - off scale» on the INES scale. The reason for the shutdown is being clarified.

As of Thursday morning, 11 out of 15 blocks of four NPPs operating in Ukraine, are in operation. The power unit 3 of the Zaporozhye NPP is on the 120th day of the average planned repair, the block 5 of the Zaporozhye NPP is on the 37th day of the average scheduled repair, and the block 3 of the South Ukrainian NPP is on the 75th day of the average planned repair. 

On April 11, the Zaporozhye NPP shut down the power unit 6 due to a malfunction. On the whole, the state of Ukraine's nuclear power industry is assessed by experts as critical.

Yesterday the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to extend emergency measures in the energy sector for another month.
