The Ukrainian government has allowed the military to open fire on the aircraft that illegally violate the state border of Ukraine, or are suspected of committing terrorist acts in the Ukrainian airspace. The relevant text of the decree is published on the website of the Cabinet.

‘The duty forces are to use weapons and military equipment after the warning fire with cannon armament of the duty interceptor aircraft (helicopters) to prevent violations of the state border of Ukraine by aircraft of the Armed Forces of other countries, that do not follow commands (signals) of the interceptor aircraft and to terminate illegal actions of aircraft, if they are used to carry out a terrorist attack in the airspace of Ukraine, including in the area of ​​the anti-terrorist operation (ATO),’ said the text of the decree.

The document notes that the right to take a decision on opening warning fire and fire at a target is given to the Minister of Defense, the Chief of General Staff - Chief of the Armed Forces, the commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces, or persons performing their duties.
