A Russian citizen died after being detained by the Ukrainian border guards for ‘illegal crossing’ of the Russian-Ukrainian border, said the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

‘Today, the border guards of the Chernigov squad detained a Russian citizen. He had tried to illegally cross the border, and after the arrest his health suddenly deteriorated. The detainee died soon,’ says the statement.

According to the State Border Service, the man was detained because he had been denied entry to Ukraine.

The Border Service said that the Russians must have had an epileptic attack, the guards immediately called an ambulance, but when it arrived, it was only able to document the death of the detainee.
