The Netherlands ratified free trade agreement between Ukraine and EU

02:30, 31.05.2017

The Parliament of the Netherlands, the last of the EU countries, has ratified the agreement on the association and the free trade zone of Ukraine and the EU, said the representative of the upper chamber of the parliament of the country.

As it became known, the number of speakers in favor of the agreement twice exceeded the number of speakers against it. The meeting was attended by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Foreign Minister Bert Kunders. Both politicians support the Ukraine-EU association.

In 2014, Ukraine signed an association agreement with the European Union. It was ratified by all EU member states, except the Netherlands.
