A civilians was killed the day before under fire from the AFU positions, when he was trying to cross the contact line in Donbass, bypassing the checkpoint to the south-west of Donetsk. It was reported by Eduard Basurin, the deputy commander of the operational command of the DPR, at the briefing.

‘It should be noted that the Ukrainian side is continuing to organize provocations in the areas of border crossing points of entry and exit. Periodic attacks and the illegal detention of the local residents by the Ukrainian military lead to the fact that some citizens try to enter the territory of the Republic, bypassing checkpoints, despite the deadly danger. In particular, yesterday, in the area of Yelenovka, a 16-year-old boy was killed by gunfire, when trying to enter the territory of the Republic,’ said Eduard Basurin.

The Vice-Commander noted that the civilian had come under the AFU mortar fire, trying to get around the checkpoint. 

‘We say that this is not an accident, but a systematic murder,’ he added.
