From January to March 2017, prices for bread in Ukraine rose higher than for the entire 2016 year. This was announced by the director of the Economic Discussion Club Pendzin. 

He noted that, since the end of last year, the rise in prices for bread has been quite significant. 

‘It has already significantly exceeded the maximum rate for 2016. In the first three months of this year, the rise in prices for bread has been higher than for the whole of last year. Moreover, it concerns, first of all, social grades of bread. 

This is a dangerous situation, the government should pay attention to it, especially since today the state regulation of prices for socially important food products has been abolished. Based on their own declarations, the government can not practically influence the situation on the bread market. It is really menacing, we call on the government to take it seriously,’ Penzin said. 

Since February 1, in Ukraine, the prices have gone up in transport, communal services, Internet and railway tickets.
