A Russian citizen, Vladimir Bezobrazov, abducted by the SBU in Odessa region in 2015 and held in the illegal captivity, has broken free and reached Donetsk.

According to the coordinator of the public movement «The truth of War», Tatiana Buyko, on December 16, BEZOBRAZOV, without money, clothes or documents, was thrown by the SBU in the «gray zone», at one of the most dangerous places which, after Sunday's breakthrough of the AFU toward Debaltsevo, turned into the frontline.

Vladimir Bezobrazov was arrested on June 18, 2014, in a village cafe in Carolino Bugaz, the Odessa region, on the testimony of a waiter and a border guard, who said that Bezobrazov had allegedly recruited militants for the DPR and LPR. A search of his hotel room did not reveal any evidence.

Bezobrazov’s confession of the alleged acts was received through threats to his family.

In August 2014, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison under the part 1 of the article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine).

Bezobrazov’s mother and son fled from Ukraine, and only after that he refused his confession and filed an appeal.

In winter 2015 there was an agreement to exchange Vladimir Bezobrazov for a Ukrainian war prisoner held in the LPR.

The condition of the Ukrainian side for the exchange was Vladimir’s pleading guilty.
