US Ambassador to OSCE fears possible attack on Mariupol

01:23, 19.11.2016

The US Ambassador to the OSCE, Daniel Baer announced a possibility of ‘a joint offensive of the Russian-terrorist forces on Mariupol’.

He said this at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, reports the Ukrainian agency «UNIAN».

‘We are still seriously concerned because of the united Russian and separatist forces building up their potential outside of Mariupol,’ said Baer.

He said that on November 14, observers of the Special OSCE monitoring mission were allegedly denied the access to the two Militia-controlled areas located to the north-east of Mariupol.

‘Drawing attention to the fact that the SMM observed the connection between the restriction of access to these areas and violations of the ceasefire, we are deeply concerned that the joint Russian-separatist forces might be planning more attacks on Mariupol or its surroundings,’ said Baer.
