23:13, 23.02.2017

Soldiers of a unit of the 72nd brigade of the AFU tried to prevent radicals of the nationalist battalion «Right sector» from going to Kiev to take part in anti-government riots, due to which a shootout started, which resulted in several deaths.

This was reported by the representative of the Defense Ministry of the Donetsk People's Republic, Eduard Basurin, during his briefing.

It is reported that the incident occurred in Avdeevka. By order of the command of the so-called anti-terrorist operation, the deputy commander of the 72nd brigade of the AFU, Alexander Samarsky, tried to block one of the buses with the radicals of the «Right Sector», leaving for Kiev. Stopped radicals expressed their dissatisfaction and passed from arguments to the shooting. As a result, an AFU Lieutenant, Maxim Grinchishin, was killed instantly.

In response, the Ukrainian military fired back on the bus with the nationalists. As a result, two of the «Right Sector» radicals were killed and another three received injuries of varying severity.

‘This fact is carefully concealed from the public, in order not to provoke the exacerbation of the situation in Kiev,’ said Eduard Basurin.
