The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, visited the LPR checkpoint in the Stanitsa Luganskaya area. 

The head of the ICRC observed the conditions of the checkpoint operation, inspected the bridge across the Seversky Donets River, damaged in 2015, and also inspected the work of the heating station established earlier by the joint efforts of the Red Cross and the Republic. 

After that, already in Lugansk, Maurer met with the deputy chairman of the People's Council of the LPR, the authorized representative of the Republic at the negotiations in Minsk, Vladislav Deynego, and other representatives of the LPR.

The deputy chairman of the People's Council noted that at the meeting, there had been raised a number of other issues related to the work of the ICRC in the LPR, but they had failed to be discussed in detail.
