Pushilin: «Road map» is good but Debaltsevo is our town

01:39, 21.10.2016

The authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic support the idea of developing a road map for the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, which was discussed by the "Normandy format" leaders in Berlin. It was announced by Denis Pushilin, the Speaker of the DPR Parliament and the head of DPR delegation to the peace negotiations.

‘Perhaps, the most positive aspect of the meeting was an understanding of the need for a road map, which we have so long been talking about. You can not perform some points of the Complex of measures and ignore the others,’ said Pushilin.

He noted that the road map would help put an end to Ukraine’s speculations on the Minsk track.

‘The speculation of the official Kiev on the transfer of the border and the continuing shelling, which supposedly are the only reason for not starting the discussion of political issues, must be stopped. The road map is the best solution for this. I hope that in the near future the understanding on this issue will be found in the Contact Group,’ added Pushilin.

Pushilin also said that the DPR authorities would not agree to leave Debaltsevo for security of the town residents.

‘As for the town itself, on which the Ukrainian side is punctually trying to speculate, Debaltsevo is our town, and the authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic will never take any decisions that might harm its citizens,’ he said.
