Pushilin: Ukraine refused to push its positions 1.5 km away from Donetsk Filter Plant

02:51, 27.01.2017

The Ukrainian side refused to push back their positions located in close proximity to the Donetsk filter plant, on the permissible distance of 1.5 km. This was announced by the head of the DPR delegation at the Minsk negotiations, the chairman of the People's Council, Denis Pushilin, at the end of the videoconference of the Contact Group.

‘Within the framework of the videoconference held today, The DPR has come out with a compromise proposal to support the previously signed document prohibiting the presence of any armed forces within 1.5 km from the Donetsk filter plant. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian side has avoided not only the offer, but also the document signed by the Ukrainian military in March 2016,’ he said.

Pushilin added that the only compromise was the proposal of the Contact Group Coordinator (Martin Saydik) to put this issue on the agenda of the nearest safety subgroup meeting in Minsk.
