Radicals demand that Eurovision-2017 participants sing exclusively in Ukrainian

01:38, 26.03.2017

Ukrainian Nazis demand that participants of the Eurovision Song Contest of 2017 translate almost all their songs into Ukrainian. They justify their claim by the law recently prepared by the MPs on the mandatory sounding of 75% of the content of radio stations, television and the media in the state language.

Thus, after adopting and signing the nationalist bill, the Eurovision-2017 participants, according to the group of the radicals, are obliged to comply with Ukrainian legislation - 3/4 of all songs in the contest should be in Ukrainian, with simultaneous translation or subtitles.

The «activists» intend to enforce the still unsigned law by creating an electronic petition on the website of the president of the country.

In fact, it is not clear how it is possible to realize this «wish» of the nationalists, given that the Eurovision Song Contest of 2017 is an international contest, with songs performed, according to the rules, in any language. Until 1998, it was mandatory to perform the composition exclusively in the language of the participating country.
