The external management was introduced in all offices of the company «Ukrtelecom» in early March. The newly created state-owned enterprise fully retained its staff and wages. 

According to the DPR Ministry of Communications, the process of transition to the state ownership went off smoothly. In particular, on March 3, on the basis of the former «Ukrtelecom»was created the republican enterprise «Comtel». The transfer of about a thousand employees to the new structure took place in a matter of days. Moreover, the authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic paid them full wages for February. The amount of the wages accrued to employees of communication exceeds 5.2 million rubles. 

‘We have completely refuted rumors circulating in Ukraine that employees of the former «Ukrtelecom» will remain without salary. On the contrary, we are ready to take responsibility for improving the quality of communication and the conditions for employees. Recently, the «Ukrtelecom» was, to put it mildly, in decline, as full-time employees were sent to free holidays and their wages were decreasing. We intend to soon correct the situation,’ said Igor Khalepa, the director of the Department for Control of Electricity and Telecommunications of the DPR Ministry of Communications. 

The specialists were also able to cope with temporary malfunctions in the network, which arose because of intentional sabotage by the Ukrainian side.
