Investigative Committee initiated six cases after Ukrainian military’s shelling civilians in Donbass

Six criminal cases were instituted in Russia after the shelling by the Ukrainian military of civilians in Donbass from May 31 to June 5, said Svetlana Petrenko, the spokeswoman for the Russian Investigative Committee.

‘Six more criminal cases have been filed today on the grounds of the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code (use of prohibited means and methods of warfare). According to the investigation, from May 31 to June 5, 2017, the Ukrainian military repeatedly shelled with heavy types of artillery, the civilian objects located in the localities of Krutaya Balka in the Yasinovatsky region, Staromikhaylovka, Trudovskiye, Yasinovataya town, and Lugovaya street in Donetsk, as a result of which 7 civilians were injured,’ said Petrenko.
