The advisor to the US President-elect Donald Trump, Paige Carter spoke about the possible recognition of the Crimea as the Russian territory. 

According to him, the news coverage on the peninsula and Ukraine in recent years is one of the most striking examples of «fake news». 

‘I'm sure there will be new opportunities to overcome these misconceptions and wrong vector which was set for Ukraine,’ said the adviser, when asked about the possibility of Washington's recognition of the Crimea as the Russian territory and the US policy toward Ukraine.

Paige also spoke about the other purposes of his visit to Moscow: according to him, he is considering the possibility of cooperation with companies of the Russian private sector. 

‘American, as well as European companies are very interested in returning to the Russian market,’ he concluded.

Trump’s advisor arrived in the Russian capital on 8 December. He said that he would remain there until 13 December. The Kremlin announced no plans of meeting with him.
