The Russian Defense Ministry said that the Ukrainian security services intend to detain the Russian officers of the Joint Center for Coordination and Control of the ceasefire in the south-east of Ukraine (JCCC), allegedly on charges of "spying". The Defense Ministry noted that in this way, Kiev is preparing provocations against the military from Russia.

The intelligence agencies of Ukraine are preparing provocations against the Russian officers of the JCCC. As stated on the site of the Ministry, this information was received via a number of reliable channels.

‘The SBU action to the detention of the Russian military accused of alleged «spying", will be carried out in the upcoming days on the rotation of the Russian contingent of the JCCC ,’ said the statement.

The Ministry reminded that the Russian officers are in Ukraine by mutual agreement of the Russian and Ukrainian authorities and solely in order to assist members of the OSCE monitoring mission in observing the cessation of the hostilities.

‘In order to avoid disruption of the JCCC further work, we call upon the Ukrainian authorities to treat this information with all responsibility and to prevent provocations against the Russian military from the Ukrainian security services,’ emphasized the Russian Defense Ministry website.
