The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov arrived in the Svetlodarsk arc area where, during the last days, has intensified the fighting between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the forces of the LPR. It is reported by the press service of the National Security Council.

According to Turchynov, the positions of the AFU have been attacked for four days in a row, with ‘artillery and mortars of calibers prohibited by the Minsk Agreements’.

‘By the number of artillery and mortar shells launched on our positions situated in the Svetlodarsk arc area, there has been set a record - more than 800 a day,’ said the Secretary of the National Security Council.

‘Our military counterattacked, moved forward and took up new positions which gave them an additional advantage over the enemy in this defense sector,’ quoted him the press office.
