Korchinskiy called for the burning of the Odessa City Hall on May 2

On the page of the organisation "Brotherhood" in the social network VKontakte appeared a call to burn the Odessa City Hall on 2 May.

‘We burnt the Trade Union House, we will burn the mayor's office as well! On May 2, come to Odessa. Join us!’ said the clearly provocative message.

The head of the organisation "Brotherhood" is a well-known nationalist and provocateur Dmitry Korchinskiy.

Later, the message was removed from the page and, in stead of it, another appeared, more politically correct, but also calling for mobilisation against the Odessa Mayor Gennady Truhanov on May 2 of this year.

However, although these calls are camouflaged as the struggle against "separatists", observers are not inclined to see in them a political connotation related to pro-Russian or anti-Russian movements. It is rather a continuation of already existing fight for power and control over cash flows in the Odessa region. A number of players from Poroshenko’s team are not averse to take the place of Saakashvili.

Finally, another version was voiced by the Kiev newspaper Vesti, reminding that Korchinskiy is a longtime associate and friend of Eduard Gurwitz, an ex-mayor of Odessa and today's MP from the Poroshenko Bloc.

‘Members of Gurwitz’s team were seen as active participants in the clashes in the centre of Odessa and on the Kulikovo Pole on May 2. In particular, among the pro-Ukrainian activists, in fact, the organisers and active participants of street clashes there were seen Andrey Yusov, the head of the regional cell of the party "UDAR" and, previously, the head of the City Department of Youth, and Sergey Gutsalyuk, the chieftain of the Black Sea Cossacks. On May 2, 2014 in Odessa there also were ordinary members of the “Brotherhood”,' stated the publication in the Vesti.
