Ukraine has stopped the delivery of water to the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) from the Petrovsky water intake located on the territory occupied by Ukraine. This information was confirmed by the deputy head of the Lugansk regional military-civilian administration, Vladimir Guts.

‘Yes, partially the shutdown occurred, the Petrovsky intake has stopped the water supply,’ said Guts.

He explained that the shutdown was due to non-payment of the relevant invoices from the LPR.

‘The other side refuses to pay for the water, our company can not pay for electricity. Therefore, the pumps have stopped and the pumping of water to the other side has stopped,’ said the official.

At the same time, he reminded that the problem of water supply in Donbass was being solved in Minsk as part of the negotiations of the Contact Group to resolve the conflict in Donbass, but so far to no avail.

‘There is a mechanism, it works, but the funds have not been transferred to the supplier of water, on account of the Popasnyansky water canal,’ said Guts.
