The «deputy Minister for the Affairs of the Occupied Territories», Grymchak, said on the air of Channel 5 owned by the Ukrainian President Poroshenko that the People's Republic of Donbass would definitely not receive a «special status» in Ukraine.

‘I will tell you right now that there will not be any special status regarding the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

All that is called ‘the specifics of the local self-government’ means that there is a special law that was adopted on September 14th, there were made changes in February or March of 2015. It is called ‘the specifics of the local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions’.

You should understand that all the talks about a special status is a manipulation and a wrong manipulation,’ he said.

Earlier, the plenipotentiary of the LPR at the Minsk talks, Vladislav Deynego, stated that during the talks in Minsk, the Ukrainian side had refused to discuss the issue of granting a «special status» to the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics over 50 times.
