03:35, 02.03.2017

The company owned by Rinat Akhmetov has disconnected 200 thousand people from the telephone and Internet communication.

From today, the Ukrtelecom stops providing services to the uncontrolled part of the Donetsk region due to interference of unidentified persons in the network operation and the seizure of the office by armed men. This was reported on the company’s website.

‘The operator has lost the technical possibility to centrally manage the equipment on the uncontrolled territory of the Donetsk region and thus, the local network fragment has been operatively disconnected from the national network. There has been terminated the provision of telecommunication services and access to the Internet for almost 200 thousand people,’ said the statement.

The Ukrtelecom is a part of the SCM holding which is owned by businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
