The «Norman format» of the negotiations to resolve the conflict in Donbass does not seem logical, since it does not include one part of the conflict, said the Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko during the direct conversation with the residents of the Republic.

‘I said in the summer that the very «Norman format» is illogical. For example, in Syria, at the negotiating table there are representatives of the government and the opposition forces, i.e. parties to the conflict. Ukraine is also a party to the conflict, and the most important one, as it is an aggressor, and it takes part in the «Norman format» in an attempt to solve the problems on our land on its own. In fact, there is no logic in it.

We proposed the following. Either Ukraine is taken out of the «Norman Quartet», and then it's just going to be a group of mediators, Russia, France, Germany, or we are included into it, then there will be two parties to the conflict and the three intermediary. To my great satisfaction, I heard the words of Vladimir Putin at the Valdai forum, which confirmed that I was right. I think in the near future, this question will become crucial, and before the end of the year we will see the denouement of this event,’ said the head of the DPR.
