In the Czech Republic, a court decision closed DPR representative office

02:28, 08.04.2017

The Regional Court in Ostrava (Czech Republic) decided to liquidate the «Representative Center of the DPR» in the Czech Republic, which is headed by the representative of the organization «Národní domobrana», Nelya Liskova, reports the local newspaper HlídacíPes.

The head of the representative center of the Republic, Nela Liskova, confirmed the receipt of the decision.

According to the publication, the court took this decision in response to the request of the Czech Foreign Minister, Lubomir Zaoralek, made in the autumn of 2016.

‘The chairman of the organization was handed a decision on the initiation of the case,’ said a representative of the regional court in Ostrava, Lucia Olsharova.

Zaoralek initiated the closure of the consulate of the Donetsk People's Republic in September 2016, but in February 2017, the court asked him to supplement the complaint and clarify some of his statements.

‘The Minister of Foreign Affairs argued that the creation of this association was contrary to the norms of international law, as indicated by the Constitution of the Czech Republic, in particular, the obligation to respect the territorial integrity of other countries,’ said Irena Valentova, the spokesperson for the Czech Foreign Ministry.
