Over 300 people were killed as a result of the shelling on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic of 2016, said the vice-commander of the DPR operational command, Eduard Basurin. 

‘Since the beginning of 2016, at the hands of Ukrainian military, 314 people were killed in the DPR, including three children. 406 people received injuries of varying severity, including 16 children,’ he said.

Earlier, the DPR Ombudsman, Daria Morozova said that the number of deaths in 2016 in the Donetsk People's Republic, as a result of the hostilities, had decreased four times.
