LPR detained saboteurs who planned several acts of terrorism

The Ministry of State Security in Lugansk has disclosed and detained a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the SBU. This was reported by the Minister of State Security of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik.

The terrorist group acted under the supervision of the chief of the 8th Special Forces regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Pavel Balov, who had recruited Vasily Sapronov in the territory of Ukraine. The latter was tasked to form a sabotage group of residents of the Lugansk region.

‘After a number of failures in the terrorist and intelligence network, the Ukrainian special services began to focus specifically on using as an «expendable material» mainly residents of the Lugansk region, living on both sides of the contact line. The detained members of the sabotage and reconnaissance group are already giving evidence, which confirm the information we have,’ noted Leonid Pasechnik.

As the Minister emphasized, the regime in Ukraine has moved to terror as the main strategy in the war against the Donbass Republics at all levels of their life activity - from physical elimination of social and political leaders and terrorist attacks on infrastructure facilities to the organization of economic sabotage.

The staff of the LPR MGB learned that Vasily Sapronov (call sign «House») had been trained in organizing terrorist activities under the guidance of the SBU instructors and had been sent to the LPR for special operations. The choice of goals, financing, operational communication, coordination of plans of operations were carried out directly by Balov. The tasks of the terrorist group included the abduction and liquidation of the military, public and political figures, as well as the implementation of terrorist attacks on strategically important infrastructure facilities.

In addition, the saboteurs, using the intelligence network of the Ukrainian special services, tried to create hotbeds of instability in large enterprises, mainly those where temporary external control had been introduced.

‘During the investigation, it was established that the sabotage and reconnaissance group had been involved in serious and particularly serious crimes in the territory of the LPR. Thus, when international organizations are increasingly demanding that the Kiev regime effectively implement the Minsk Agreements, it creates the appearance of a military ceasefire in order to dramatically strengthen the terrorist front, turning the secret terrorist war into a state policy and using civilian population of the Lugansk region as an «expendable material»,’ said the Minister of State Security of the LPR.
