The Russian Federation does not seek to isolate itself from the Ukraine, but will react appropriately in the event of the introduction of visas by Kiev, said the State Secretary and the Deputy Foreign Minister, Grigory Karasin.

‘Concerning the possible visa regime with Ukraine. Even when at the beginning of 2015, Kiev suspended certain provisions of the bilateral intergovernmental agreements governing issues crossing the Russian-Ukrainian border by citizens of the two countries (the internal passport was excluded from the list of documents for the entry / exit to Ukraine, and border crossings were closed), we did not take the counter "mirror" measures,’ demanded the diplomat.

‘Naturally, we are closely monitoring the situation and, if necessary, will respond appropriately. In any case, we do not seek to isolate ourselves from the Ukrainian people close to us in spirit, faith and outlook,’ emphasized Karasin.
