In 2016, non-combat losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeded losses in battle. The relevant data were given in the response of the AFU Office of Public Relations to the BBC Ukraine Ukraine.

‘The number of losses in 2016 is 211 in fighting, 256 non-combat losses,’ the report says.

According to the office, in 2016, as a result of combat damage, the losses of arms and military equipment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine have accounted for over 100 pieces. 

It also reported that since the beginning of the year, about 7,5 thousand people have signed contracts to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
