At the first meeting of the State Duma of the seventh convocation, the Russian President Vladimir Putin said what, in his opinion, is the power of Russia.

‘Any country has the right to be strong ... The strength of Russia is within ourselves, it is in our people, our traditions and our culture, in our economy, in our vast territory and natural resources, and in defense capabilities, of course. But most importantly, our strength lies in the unity of our people,’ said Putin.

According to him, this is a key condition for the preservation of the statehood and independence of Russia, as well as the existence of the country as ‘a single family home for all the peoples that inhabit it’.
