All schools in Mariupol to be transferred into Ukrainian

All schools in Mariupol, occupied by Ukrainian troops in the summer of 2014, will be transferred into education in Ukrainian. This is reported by the department of education of the city, arguing that the parents of students go to this «voluntarily».

At the same time, the idea of «voluntariness» is badly correlated with the fact that the total «Ukrainization» of Mariupol schools will be spelled out in the law, the draft of which has already been registered in the parliament.

The head of the education department of Mariupol City Council, Svetlana Dobrovolskaya, assures that the introduction of the Ukrainian language as the main language will be ‘gradual’. At the same time, she boasted that this year two schools in Mariupol would become Ukrainian-speaking. In particular, in school number 10, five (!) Ukrainian first classes of 30-35 people were opened.

Dobrovolskaya does not hide the fact that the parents of first-graders are «convinced’ that a child who studies in the Ukrainian language has more opportunities to realize himself in the «Independent».
