03:38, 01.02.2017

The Ukrainian military have applied new artillery strikes on residential areas of the capital of the Donetsk People's Republic, report correspondents of the Federal News Agency.

The AFU continue shelling the capital of the DPR. At this time, the fire by the Ukrainian military hit the market «Mayak» and the residential areas near the Miner's Square. One of the shells landed between the house number 164 and the Institute in the Artema street. Judging by the fragments, the damage was caused by a 122mm shell. The adjacent buildings windows are shattered up to the seventh and eighth floor.

People are trying to remove debris of broken windows and somehow close window cases with film and chipboards. It should be noted that the outside temperature is still over 20 degrees below zero. Miraculously, there are no casualties.

‘Here is a fragment,’ says Nikolay, a local resident, showing a proof of the AFU shelling. ‘It came right into the apartment, into the bedroom. I was lucky to lie. I was saved by miracle’.

The situation is exacerbating. Lists of hits on residential areas of Donetsk already count over two dozen addresses and continue to grow.
