At about 11.20, the Kiev military opened fire on the positions of the People's Militia near the locality of Zhyoltoye, as well as on the locality itself. The fire lasted for about an hour.

The shelling was carried out with 82 and 120mm mortars, as well as automatic grenade launchers AGS, infantry fighting vehicles and sniper weapons. As a result of the shelling, a kindergarten and an apartment building were riddled with shrapnel.
