Zakharchenko: DPR ready to ensure OSCE security

The DPR authorities are ready, if necessary, to take additional measures to enhance the safety of the observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission. This was announced by the Head of the Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko. 

‘We are ready to take additional measures to ensure the security of the OSCE mission,' he said in his statement. 

On April 23, 2017, when two SMM OSCE crews were on the Slavyanoserbsk-Sokolniki route in the LPR in the area of the contact line, one vehicle of the observers was blown up on an anti-tank mine, which resulted in one mission employee perished. According to the latest data from the LPR Ministry of State Security, three employees were wounded. This is the first case of the death of an international observer for the entire period of the conflict in Donbass.
