The Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko congratulated the residents of the capital on the City Day and thanked them for their support, courage and commitment to excellence.

‘For me, as probably for most residents, Donetsk is more than just a city. This is my Motherland, the land of my ancestors, it is an outpost of the Russian world. It is a city in which our children and grandchildren will live. Today Donetsk has become a symbol of struggle for freedom. It has become a real hero-city,’ said Zakharchenko.

According to him, during the conflict Donetsk more than once became the target of Kiev’s military who, with criminal cruelty and cynicism, started in 2014 to bombard the city for its residents’ refusing the Ukrainian Nazi authorities.

‘But we have not broken, we have stood, and our city had not submitted to the enemy. Even in the days of the most fierce attacks, Donetsk lived. It lived owing to you, my dear countrymen. It stayed clean, utilities, transport and enterprises worked. People did everything to preserve tour beloved city,’ said the Head of the Republic.

He added that today the capital of the DPR is rapidly growing, new businesses and factories are opening. The authorities considered the development of the region's economy as one of their key tasks.
