Zakharchenko urged the West to put pressure on Poroshenko

02:31, 17.02.2017

The agreement on the withdrawal of heavy weapons can only be implemented in case of pressure on Kiev from Germany, France and the US, as there is no trust to Kiev’s promises anymore, said the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic. Alexander Zakharchenko.

‘The Ukrainian side has so much promised in nearly three years of the war and so few promises have been fulfilled that we don’t have a grain of trust to Kiev’s promises anymore. And this agreement actually concerns, first of all, Kiev ... The agreement on the withdrawal of heavy weapons before February 20 can be carried out only if the West - Germany, France and the US - really put pressure on Poroshenko,’ said Zakharchenko.

He also noted the facts of presence of heavy armor of the Ukrainian military in the areas of the contact line.

‘Has anybody recorded our tanks in Yasinovataya? No, they haven’t. Because they are not there, while the entire world has seen Ukrainian tanks in Avdeevka, so this agreement applies, above all, to Kiev,’ he said.

In addition, the Head of the DPR noted that, unlike in Kiev, the Republic is ready to fulfill the Minsk Agreements.
