The actual implementation of the Minsk Agreements by the Ukrainian side might begin in 2017. This opinion was expressed by the Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.

‘I believe that the phased implementation of the Minsk Agreements, in accordance with the road map adopted by the Norman format and agreed with us, might begin in 2017,’ he said.

Zakharchenko said that so far the Ukrainian authorities had slowed down the implementation of «Minsk», since the fulfillment of the political agreement would mean the collapse of the current regime in Kiev. In the future, the situation might be affected by a number of factors, such as the worsening of the economic and political crisis in Ukraine, the pressure on the part of the Norman format countries and the probable change in the US foreign policy.

‘There is not and can not be an absolute certainty as the Kiev power is like a monkey with a grenade, it is difficult to understand what they have in their mind, where they will throw that grenade. Or, which is more likely, when the grenade will explode in their hands. But there are preconditions for a positive solution of the matter,’ added the Head of the DPR.
