Zakharchenko at second anniversary of referendum: Enemy shouted that Donbass would not last a month

Donetsk held celebrations on the occasion of the second anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of Donetsk; on May 11, 2014, the residents of the capital of Donbass held a referendum on the state sovereignty.

According to preliminary estimates, the celebration in Donetsk gathered about 70 thousand people.

At 10:00, Moscow time, in the main street of the city there began a festive procession opened by Donbass bikers. The procession lasted two and a half hours.

Then the Head of the Republic Alexander Zakharchenko addressed to the people.

‘Dear compatriots, we were up in arms to defend their land. The enemy shouted that we would not hold out - a month, six months, a year ... But we have survived. Brethren, if we are together, we are invincible. Happy birthday, the country!’.

Also the people of Donetsk were congratulated by the chairman of the People's Council Denis Pushilin, after which sounded the Hymn of the Republic. After the official part of the event, a concert began on the main square of the capital.
