The Head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Igor Plotnitsky suggested holding a nationwide referendum on the federal structure of Ukraine.

‘The civil war unleashed by the current Kiev regime against Donbass, the suppression of any sanity on the entire territory of Ukraine and the replacement of law enforcements with the madness of inadequate «activists», all this is already threatening the very existence of the state. It can be saved only by a new national referendum on the federal structure of Ukraine,’ says the statement the Head of the LPR on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the All-Ukrainian referendum, published on his official website.

Plotnitsky emphasized that the federal structure should not necessarily be of the RF type, the variants are the models of the Federal Republic of Germany or the United States. The main thing is to keep the principle of forming the vertical of power with the maximum freedom of regions in matters of economy, culture, education, health care and law enforcement.

At the same time, according to him, Kiev ‘should be just one of the regions of Ukraine’.

The Head of the LPR invited ‘true patriots of Ukraine’ to Lugansk to discuss the future Constitution of the Ukrainian Federation and matters of the organization of the referendum.

‘Time to search for a compromise is very short. The alternative to it is the collapse of Ukraine into many small territories ... We are ready to give a democratic Ukraine another chance,’ said Plotnitsky.
